Huge Successes at the RateMyApprenticeship Awards

2 min read

It was an afternoon of inspiring discussion, canapés and complimentary Kit Kats at the 2018 RateMyApprenticeship Awards.

Many Prosecco bottles were emptied as over 200 stakeholders joined together to celebrate the outstanding achievements of apprentices, employers and schools in apprenticeships across the UK.

BAE Systems were thrilled to be crowned RateMyApprenticeship's Top Employer 2018-19 as well as taking home two regional awards. There were 19 new companies in the Top 100 Employers this year, based on a record 4,515 of reviews submitted by students on

The event took place at etc.venues, County Hall, overlooking the Thames and was hosted by the marvellous Tim Campbell, MBE.

Tim is an expert in all things early talent, and prior to the awards ceremony he was joined by key stakeholders in the industry including Stephen Isherwood (ISE), Carolyn Savage (NAS) and Hazel Grant (TfL) to share their views on the apprenticeship market.

Next up on the sofa were four inspiring young people -  two apprentices and two students from City & Islington College currently in the process of considering their career options. The employers in the audience hung on every word as Jamil, Anastasia, James and Lucy discussed what and who influenced their career decisions, where they look for advice and their views on the apprenticeship market.

As the student panel left the stage to salutes and warm applause, discussions sprung up across the room about the valuable insights they had provided.

It was truly a celebration of early talent, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event on the 18th July 2019.
