What are we looking for?

A driven Business Development Manager who will bring in revenue through to join our brilliant Commercial team. You will be motivated by hitting targets, building relationships with clients and working collaboratively with others to achieve success. You will have a desire to continually develop your skills as well as those within your team.

What will your role include?

Using a consultative approach to prospecting and generating new business from a range of products, through outbound activity as well as account managing clients, and up and cross-selling our portfolio of innovative products into mature accounts. As one of four BDM’s in a Commercial team of eight, you will generate leads through outbound prospecting, supplemented by inbound b2b marketing activity.


What will you be responsible for?

Consultative approach to:

  • Prospecting and driving new business
  • Managing and building relations with existing accounts
  • Growing each account through up-selling, top ups, cross-selling and volume growth
  • Gaining customer commitment and ensuring successful on-boarding

Account management:

  • Work with the Delivery team; facilitating communications including meetings, pitching, reviews and recommendations
  • Advising and supporting clients on their early talent attraction strategy

Success looks like:

  • Bring onboard 30-40 new clients in year one
  • Delivery £70,000+ new business in year one across our product portfolio 


Skills and Experience:


  • Understanding of advertising and media and working for a growing company
  • At least 2 years experience selling face-to-face and on the phone
  • At least 1 year experience organising and leading meetings with clients
  • Interest and desire to pursue a career in sales
  • Success in prospecting, engaging with and selling to new business leads
  • Success in managing existing accounts to continued growth
  • Proven success in hitting and exceeding demanding targets
  • Proven success in cross-selling and up-selling across a varied product range
  • Strong understanding of the English language (both spoken and written) and able to communicate effectively
  • Able to work alone and as part of a team
  • Confident, enthusiastic and motivated
  • Proven ability to manage time and territory effectively


  • Experience within an Advertising, Media or Events environment
  • Experience and knowledge of the early talent recruitment / recruitment / HR market


£25,000 - £30,000 base salary with a year one OTE of £40,000+.
